Petition: open, accountable elections in Deschutes County

Voters deserve elections they can check for themselves. Add your name to ask for four common-sense reforms.

What we're asking for

To the Deschutes County Clerk and the Board of County Commissioners:

We, voters of Deschutes County, ask that:

  1. The county auditor gets full access. The Clerk's office should give the county's independent auditor full access to review election security, as county code requires. [2025 audit report, p. 7–9]
  2. Every audit recommendation gets a public plan and a finish date. [2024 audit]
  3. No voter goes inactive over a signature without fair notice: a phone call, a text and an email first, not just one letter.
  4. The numbers are public after every election: how many ballots came back undelivered, and how many voters were made inactive and why.
